Podcast News
Greetings friends - I’ve spent the last few days looking at the Starfish & Coffee podcast from some different angles to make it more ‘efficient’… is that the right word? Probably not but it’s close…
What I came up with is not earth shattering - many podcasters do it and I’ve figured out why. Rather than a stream of episodes whenever they happen to be ready, I’ve decided to draw a line where I am now and begin ‘again’ with Season Two, which will be ten episodes, published on a certain day every week in a batch across ten weeks (natch). For some reason, this seems to give it a sense of order.
Yeah, yeah… many people are good at planning this kind of thing before they start but I had to get dirty to figure it out for myself and that’s OK. I mean, lots of people also have a never ending series of podcast episodes with no seasons and that was my preferred model but I see now that’s only a better idea if you’ve got, say, a $250m deal with Spotify.
So that’s that. I’m three episodes in the bag on Season Two and making that decision has focussed my mind to pick off the remaining seven rather than wander about slightly aimlessly. Who knew an endgame could be so productive - that’s what you get for working with magazines your whole life - never an endgame. Just a never ending cycle of one issue after another.
I also considered a new logo for two seconds but there’s nothing wrong with it, however, I might bring in some new intro music simply because I can.
